Campaigns
Design branded marketing email, choose an audience, review and test it, then send now or on a schedule and follow delivery in the report.
Campaigns (in Mail, under Campaigns) are designed emails sent to a filtered set of your contacts — newsletters, announcements, offers. They use the same delivery path as bulk email, so the same rules apply: unsubscribes and bounced addresses are skipped, every message carries an unsubscribe link, and the send counts toward your emailable contacts. Campaigns cost no credits.
Creating a campaign
Start from a blank campaign or a template. A campaign has four parts, each shown as a row you complete before sending:
- From — an address on your verified domain, and the sender name.
- To — the audience: a segment, a company, a contact status (lead, active, customer or churned) or a search. The count updates as you change it.
- Subject — the subject line. Personalisation fields such as the contact's name can be used here and in the content.
- Content — the email itself, built from blocks in the designer.
Campaigns are listed under Drafts, Scheduled, Sending and Sent, and can be duplicated or saved as a template for next time.
Designing the email
The designer builds an email from blocks — text, images, buttons, and ready-made sections such as a discount, an event or a testimonial — inside a layout. The preview shows the email as it will send, on desktop and mobile. Images you upload are stored with your workspace.
Brand kit
The brand kit (Campaigns → Brand) is set once and used by every campaign and template: your logo and icon, accent colour, theme, sender name, footer lines and postal address. Templates in the template browser are shown in your brand, exactly as they will send.
Marketing email must include a postal address in many countries; add yours in the brand kit before your first send. The "Sent with Clivly" credit in the footer can be turned off.
Review, test and send
Review & send checks the campaign before anything goes out:
- who will receive it, and who will be skipped and why (unsubscribed, bounced, or a missing address);
- whether the send fits your audience tier and monthly send limit;
- anything that would stop the send, such as an unverified domain or a workspace in read-only mode.
Use Test send to email yourself or a teammate first. Then send now or choose Schedule for a later time; a scheduled campaign can be unscheduled until it starts.
Large sends go out in stages. A small sample goes first, and new sending addresses are warmed up gradually, a little more each day, so mailbox providers learn to trust your domain.
Held campaigns
A scheduled campaign is held instead of sent when it can no longer go out safely — for example, the member who scheduled it has left the workspace, or the workspace became read-only. The campaign shows the reason. Fix it, then review and schedule again.
The report
Each campaign has a report that follows the send as it goes out: how many messages were delivered, clicked, bounced, unsubscribed or marked as spam, and how many were skipped or failed, with the reason.
