Ask your CRM

Plain-language questions about your contacts, companies, deals and tasks, answered read-only from your own data — with credits, your own Anthropic key, and drafted follow-ups.

Ask your CRM lets members ask questions in plain language — "which deals over $5k close this month?" — and get an answer that names the records it used. Open it from the assistant button in the header or the Ask page.

It is off by default. An owner or admin turns it on under Settings → AI.

What it can and cannot do

  • It reads contacts, companies, deals and tasks — only what the asking member's role may see, in the current workspace.
  • It cannot create, change or delete records, send email, or see other workspaces.
  • The one thing it can create is a draft follow-up email to a contact it looked up. The draft goes to Drafts; a person reviews, edits and sends it. Drafts it proposes expire after 4 hours.

Record text is treated as data, never as instructions to the assistant.

Conversations

Your questions and answers are saved as private conversations, visible only to you, so you can pick a thread back up. You can delete them.

A question that fails on the provider's side is refunded. Settings → AI shows usage per member.

Using your own Anthropic key

Instead of credits, an owner or admin can connect the workspace's own Anthropic API key under Settings → AI. Clivly tests the key before saving it, stores it encrypted, and only ever shows its last four characters. With a key connected, questions are billed by Anthropic and use no Clivly credits.

If a connected key stops working, Ask says so — it never falls back to Clivly's credits on its own. Only Anthropic keys are supported today.

Note

Ask your CRM is for your team. Answering website visitors is a separate setting with its own switch — see the support assistant.
